Blue Competence
Bluecompetence booth at EMO HANNOVER: TAKE PART !
The European Machine Tool builders want to show that they care about energy efficiency.
National and European Associations in the Engineering industry will run a campaign under the name Blue Competence. Even if VDW reported at many CECIMO meetings about this initiative that they worked out for the German Machine Tool sector but lately also generously offer to all CECIMO members, the exact information about the Blue Competence programme is not available yet as it is recently enlarged to other manufacturing sectors (within VDMA) and other European associations. The Blue Competence® mark is now established as a sustainability mark for the all machine production. The inauguration of the enlarged campaign will take place in July (by VDMA) and will give a new dimension to the Blue Competence® mark.
During the last CECIMO General Assembly we agreed that the promotion of the energy efficiency of the European MT industry could be conducted under the Blue Competence mark if certain conditions mainly linked to the autonomy of our sector, the decision making structure and the financial conditions are fulfilled. As already mentioned due to new evolutions they are not all finalized yet and as such not communicated yet to CECIMO by Germany (VDMA).
Nevertheless we cannot miss the opportunity of EMO HANNOVER to run eventually this campaign. Therefore VDW is kindly preparing a Blue Competence booth of 230 m² which will be managed by CECIMO (if CECIMO decides not to be part of Blue competence then VDW will take the management over). If your member companies are interested to show their energy efficient solutions, then we ask you to notify their interest before May 13th to CECIMO. We notice that their final participation can depend on the decision of CECIMO to be part of the Blue Competence campaign or not based on the information we expect to receive from VDMA by the end of May (before GA in Porto).
The conditions for participation at the Blue Competence booth by your member companies who exhibit at EMO Hannover are enclosed. As there is limited space, the first come first serve principle will be applied.
CECIMO wants to help its member associations in their efforts to promote the energy efficiency of their member companies. The Blue Competence initiative is considered by the General Assembly of CECIMO as a very promising marketing instrument to reach this objective. Even if our final engagement is not decided yet, we encourage you to offer the opportunity to exhibit at the Blue Competence booth to your member companies.
